It has been a bit more than a month since Voyage of the Pleiades was jettisoned into the world. And what a month it has been!
On launch day we had a release party at a local brewery. It was great to chat, sign some books and share a beer (or two). I’ve been in Salida for three years, but still feel new to this community since part of that time was during Covid. It was lovely to have the support of the friends I’ve made here and people that I met for this first time.
The month has rolled on from there! I’ve done a couple interviews that will be published in July. Carrie Hayes asked me some questions back in June in case you missed it. Voyage of the Pleiades is out for review, so stayed tuned for those links once they go live. One of my favorite aspects of this whole publishing adventure is receiving reader photos of the book from all over the world. In addition to snaps of Voyage of the Pleiades in locations throughout the United States (even with an authentic Alaska mosquito), I’ve received photos of books and stickers from England, Spain, Italy, and France.

Once again, thank you for your support! I love hearing from you, so please continue to send messages. If you haven’t had a chance to pick up a copy of the book, here is a link. Several libraries are carrying my book, so be sure to request it from your local library if you prefer to receive your books that way.
As I mentioned before, reviews are critical to the success of a book. Please consider dropping a review on one of the websites. In most cases, you don’t even have to write anything, you can just rate it with stars. The more reviews, the more the book will be shared with others (got to love the algorithms).
So, what’s next? I’m working a Reader’s Guide for book clubs that are reading Voyage of the Pleiades together, let me know if you would like a copy. Revisions continue on A Garden of Shadows, the sequel. I’ll be sharing excerpts as I feel they are ready. The goal is to have it published by this time next year! I have several other projects in process that I will hopefully be able to reveal sometime this fall. And as usual, my Substack will also continue to be the place for my other writing: expect more essays and 50-word stories this summer. Onward!

Congrats on all your success!!
What an exciting time! I have taken my own copy places and have been enjoying every page. Very much looking forward to the sequel.
