While The Voyage of the Pleiades is out on query and book two is coming along, I have gone down a different avenue of writing. One that I didn’t expect. Writing for television! Julie Speer Jackson and I have been collaborating on a few projects recently and this weekend, one is making its public debut. The pilot episode of our romcom, currently named Gear Up! will premiere as a table read at the Salida Film Festival. The series is about Xiomara Martinez, a sporting goods heiress that comes to Salida, Colorado to secure her international corporate position. But she falls for a rough and tumble sales rep and outdoor adventurer. Imagine Schitt’s Creek meets Northern Exposure (looking at you GenXers). It will be amazing to hear our characters come to life through community actors. Come back for photos of the rehearsal and performance!
